The owner requested something that looked like the inside of a ship.
Fitting the high-end audio and video system into an existing space presented myriad acoustic and aesthetic challenges, and we took special care to isolate sound from the rest of the house. The room is finished in South American mahogany. Space available was very limited and there is a lot going on in the room. There is an automatic 110" diagonal drop-down projector screen. High end 7-channel speaker system, 4000 watts of Macintosh amps. The port holes we blended into the design have LCD screens behind them. All functions in the room are controlled from one RF remote.
The owner's family and their company can now watch movies in the comfort of their own home theater. Watching a movie or listening to fine music in this theater is truly an experience words can't describe.
